Publishing Ethics of the Scientific Journal “Modern Linguistic and Methodical and Didactic Researches» was developed according to the Code of conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors –Committee on Publication Ethics, as well as in keeping with the Declaration of the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers “Ethical Principles of Scientific Publications.”
The Editorial Board of the journal responsibly approaches the task of maintaining scientific reputation, is guided by the principles of scientificity, objectivity, professionalism, equity and does its best to ensure the quality of scientific publications, while carefully treating the author’s position and copyrights.
In its activity, the editorial board is responsible for the publication of copyright works, which imposes the necessity of following some fundamental principles:
- The editorial decisions on accepting or refusing to publish articles should be based on the importance of the article, its originality, clarity of presentation, the reliability of the information contained in it and its relevance to the journal’s topic.
- The editorial board is obliged to treat the author and his work with respect, respect all the contacts with the authors exclusively in a benevolent, tactful way.
- The editorial board should evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of gender, religious beliefs, origin, citizenship, social status or political preferences of authors.
- Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used for personal purposes or transferred to third parties without the written consent of the author. Information or ideas obtained during editing and related to possible benefits should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.
- The editorial board is responsible for ensuring that all published articles and reviews are reviewed by specialists with the necessary qualifications.
- The editorial board is obliged to coordinate with the authors all the changes to avoid infringement of copyright.
- The editorial board should not allow publication of information, if there is sufficient reason to believe that it is plagiarism.
- The editorial board submits the comments of the reviewer to the authors in a full form if they do not contain offensive or libelous remarks;
- Editors should strive to ensure that the peer review in their journal was fair, objective and timely.
- The editorial board should not leave unanswered claims regarding the manuscripts or published materials, and also in event of a conflict situation, the editorial board should take all necessary measures to restore the violated rights.
- The editorial board should publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when it is necessary.
- The editorial board is obliged to support initiatives aimed at reducing the number of violations related to research and publication.
- The editorial board guarantees access to publications, providing storage of materials in leading libraries and repositories of scientific information of the country.
The reviewer carries out a scientific examination of copyright materials, as a result of which his actions should be impartial and consist of the following principles:
- The manuscript received for review should be considered as a confidential document that can not be passed to third parties for reviewing or discussion without authorization from the editorial board.
- The reviewer is obliged to give an objective, reasoned assessment of the results of the research, refraining from hostile, slanderous or humiliating comments.
- Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used by the reviewer for personal purposes.
- A reviewer who does not possess, in his opinion, sufficient qualification for the evaluation of the manuscript, or can not be objective, for example, in case of a conflict of interest with the author or organization, should notify the editor about this, excluding him from the process of reviewing this manuscript.
Principles that authors of scientific publications should follow:
- The authors of the article should provide reliable results of the conducted studies. Knowingly erroneous or falsified statements are unacceptable.
- Authors should ensure that the results of the study, as described in the manuscript provided, are completely original. Borrowed fragments or statements must be mentioned with a mandatory indication of the author and the source. Excessive borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, including unformulated quotes, rephrasing or assigning rights to the results of other people’s research, are unethical and unacceptable. The originality of the text should be at least 75%.
- It is necessary to recognize the contribution of all persons who somehow influenced the course of the study, in particular, the article should provide links to all the works that were important in the study.
- Authors should not provide a journal with a manuscript that was sent to another journal and is being considered there, as well as an article already published in another journal.
- All persons who have made a significant contribution to the study should be co-authors of the article. Among co-authors it is inadmissible to indicate persons who did not participate in the study.
- If the author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in the article at the stage of its consideration or after its publication, he should notify the editorial board of this as soon as possible.
The journal reserves the right to reject any manuscript submitted to the publication that does not comply with the principles listed above.
The editorial policy of the journal is based on the traditional ethical principles of the Russian scientific periodicals, follows the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications, formulated by the Committee on the Ethics of Scientific Publications (Russia, Moscow) taking into account the ethical norms of editors and publishers work, specified by the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers, developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and guided by the Declaration of the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers “Ethical Principles of Scientific Publications”.
